Families, friends, relatives or colleagues can have a garden party on any occasion. It could be for the celebration of a happy event or simply to celebrate a reunion after years of separation. Otherwise, it is an opportunity for two families, who will soon be one, to get to know each other better. It will then be a moment of sharing, especially in culinary terms. Usually, food and drinks will be in the form of a buffet where everyone serves themselves as they wish, which requires preparation for several guests. Indeed, as a host, it is important to bring forward the best possible dishes. It is also important to vary the menu so that the party is not monotonous and unpleasant. Guests can also be asked to bring dishes to add to what you have already prepared. Here are some recipes that are ideal for a garden party.
A Delight in a Bite
At a garden party, you should plan small bites that are easy to prepare and don’t require much time. In this case, the choice for Italian sausages should be made. This time it will be accompanied by mango and basil. The dish is served for 5 to 7 people and can be served for a pool party. You will need 4 strong or mild Italian sausages, 24 pieces of fresh or frozen mangoes and 12 basil leaves cut in half lengthwise. For the preparation, cook the sausages by frying them in a pan with a few drops of oil. Then set aside on absorbent paper and leave to cool. Once cooled, they can be cut into bite-size pieces. A piece of mango and a basil leaf will be added to each bite. Finally, insert a toothpick on each piece and serve.
A must: skewers
Skewers are always appreciated, especially during festivities with family and friends. There are several easy recipes for this, but let’s take a look at sesame tofu skewers. What is needed for preparation is the following ingredients: tofu, sesame oil, vegetable oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, hot sauce, pepper, garlic cloves, ginger, white mushrooms, bell pepper, red onion and sesame seeds. For preparation in the kitchen, cut the tofu into cubes. Then, mix in a plastic bag the sesame oil, vegetable oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, hot sauce, pepper, garlic cloves and ginger. Once well mixed, place in the refrigerator and marinate for 4 hours or more. All that remains is to prepare the mushrooms, peppers and onions. They should be cut to a size similar to tofu and placed each one on a spit in between. Afterwards, they can be cooked on a grill or in a frying pan. While serving, sprinkle the sesame seeds on the skewers.
All kinds of cocktails around the pool
For an exotic atmosphere in a garden and by the pool, don’t forget to put cocktails in fruit on the menu. What could be more original than to drink a drink in a coconut, for example, or in a pineapple. A recipe that will, without a doubt, be appreciated by everyone is the coconut coriander. To prepare it, you will need pieces of pineapple, pineapple syrup, pineapple juice, lemon juice, a sprig of coriander, coconut Malibu, a whole hollowed out coconut and crushed ice. Afterwards, you will need a shaker to pour the pineapple chunks, lemon juice and pineapple syrup into. Using a pestle, lightly crush the mixture and then add the coriander and other ingredients. To mix well, shake energetically for 10 seconds. Finally, strain through a strainer, pour into the coconut and fill with crushed ice.
Convenient desserts to eat without utensils
To have a complete menu for a garden party, don’t forget the desserts, although you are already full enough. This time, the minimum of utensils should be used to avoid messing around in the kitchen. You must then choose the best recipe to end the day. A rather original idea is to advance fresh fruit skewers, which are very easy to make. Just gather some seasonal fruits, mango, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon, grapes, kiwi, etc… The list of ingredients is not exhaustive since everything will depend on individual preferences and the fruits available on the market. So, cut the fruit into cubes of about the same size, insert them on a spit by shifting them and put them on a plate to finally pour a chocolate sauce and always serve chilled.
